Happiness is snuggling under a blanket when its cold

Why Do We Sleep Under Blankets, Even on the Hottest Nights? – undisputedly – there’s comfort in being covered . I am an avid outdoor person, trekker , mountaineer and skier layering up is always something i am fond off and even if not , i like to snuggle in a cozy blanket

Coming back to the point , a good nights sleep is my secret dose to start my day afresh .. sleeping outdoor without sleeping bags has been a pain.. especially those cold nights .. when the bugs are buzzing around your ears.. or when you want be covered up just enough to be comfortable on a long haul flight .. I was short of things really functional to buy in store and decided to make my own hooded capelet from Ganga Blankie Yarn . Do read my blog on blanket yarn review when you get time .. might help u in your next yarn haul

I liked the idea of my own functional hooded capelet soo much – that I thought its best to design one and write the pattern down and I proudly name it the Hodophile Hooded Capelet

Bibliophile – dedicating this post to some people in the community i know love to read Ananya , Jessica to name a few ! the most common trait that we tend to have to name a few are

  1. We are self involved – getting bored is not our thing
  2. Nothing called perfect time, perfect weather etc – anytime is a good time to read
  3. Cant wait for folks at home to go out for that undiluted time.
  4. Lost track of am / pm coz we had to finish that damn book
  5. Bestsellers are at our finger tips
  6. hoard books .. always wish there was more time and space
  7. Can get pissed when movies modify the facts

Tensor Beanie

Tensor – Beanie Pattern uses C2C technique and comes in 2 versions

  1. Comfy Version – A Beginner friendly version literally made in 60 mins with use of one color yarn
  2. Explorer version –  Intermediate crocheter’s and advance crocheter using intarsia colorwork technique working with 2 or more colors by creating numerous patterns and a personalized touch

Have a look at what my testers had in store while making the beanies – arent they gorgeous

Apart from the designing and pattern writing skills that are required – I realised how important personalization of FO would mean , ofcourse as makers we all choose the colors we like but writing somethings on the FO – took it to another dimension. Preferences ranging pet name, family name, a symbol, zodiac sign and more coming on my insta post

Tell me how would you customise the beanie !

Dimensions Shawlette

About the pattern

Dimensions shawlette Inspired by the handloom crafts of India , the shawlette is an opportunity to revive the beautiful forms of art and textile in the country via Crochet. This shawl can be slipped around your neck for any occasion casual or formal. The shawlette uses corner to corner crochet stitch in continuation to the KONA Series with simple variations to the stitch and a simple intarsia colorwork technique.

The Dimensions Shawlette is a perfect snug for winters, this geometric colorwork shawlette can be easily paired with any dress to keep you warm and comfortable all day, I made 2 shawlettes in black and pick color schemes ! so be sure to leave a comment on which version you like better !

I used Vardhman Dropill Low Pill Knitting Yarn this yarn is a new addition to vardhman’s collection of yarns – i like the texture, feel and overall appeal of the yarn and certainly one of the good quality acrylic yarns in my list

Vardhman Dropill   Black DRH021

Vardhman Dropill   Yellow DRH011

Vardhman Dropill   White DRH005

Find it here and my go to place to buy the dropill yarn is Yes Papa Handmade

The pattern is a part of the Kona C2C series – so the main stitch used in the pattern is C2C ( 2 variations) however the geometric prints on shawlette is achieved by using the C2C colorwork / intarsia technique which involves working 2 or more colors of yarn within a single row, when those colors appear in big blocks of color. Typically, you work each color section with a different ball of yarn attached to each section.

I made 2 versions of the Dimensions Shawlette pink and black, i am still unable to decide which one i like better.. do let me know what you think and drop a comment below
